open circuit and short circuit test is a one-hour durational performance and installation at vasto gallery, barcelona, built around a sculptural environment of exposed wires, led lights, and sound modules suspended through the space. over the course of the hour, four movement artists gradually activate the installation — plugging in connections, triggering light and sound — turning the sculpture into a functioning circuit that only completes through their movement.
visitors are drawn into the system as it activates, becoming intermittent nodes in a network assembled and interrupted in real time. rather than presenting electricity as a smooth, invisible utility, the piece stages its actual mechanics — connection, interruption, and the physical effort of closing a circuit — as something visible, audible, and load-bearing.
