based in london, liang-jung chen (she/they) works across drawing, object, installation and performance. informed by material culture, her practice explores how power operates through everyday artefacts, behaviours, and systems.
focusing on the tensions in daily interactions, her work reconfigures familiar details to reveal their social and political dimensions. her recent projects use live performance and movement as a form of embodied research.
originally from taiwan, her work reflects a personal sensitivity to contested borders and asks how art can help reimagine systems of authority, access, and care.
since 2019, she has run hardware archive, a research platform investigating the typologies of industrial and household hardware items around the world.
